That's what I have heard lately. Me and my buddy are going to fish there on Sunday. Plan to get there early and try some topwater baits. Will also have a chatter bait and spinnerbait tied on. Hoping there is plenty of grass around.
Chatterbaits, large jig head with white 3"split twisters tails and storm shad body lures worked

Looks like a couple sea robins too? cool video

was out off VA BEACH last Sunday . First salt water trip in many years. 18? 20? The boat ride and getting my son out on his first fishing trip was pretty awesome. 1/2day boat stayed pretty close to the beach. The crew of 3 did a good job with a load of tourists. Rudee river fishing or something like that

seabass was closed off VAB, and the bass there were small, not much more then fingerlings. The croaker were no bigger, and maybe 3 trout on the boat. We caught over 50, the two of us, but kept only 10. Rather embarrassed at those.

being that my son did well, may need to try something a little more advanced.

Not much footage came out well, but here is a short clip with the fish camera.

I am a big fan of the vmc crossover rings paired with a 1/0 weedless neko hook and a 5" senko rigged weightless wacky. It's my first time using that combo, and I landed 14 largemouth in two hours. I thought it was going to be a good day when I caught a fish on the first cast before the senko hit bottom.

I always had a couple senkos rigged different ways in my bass boat. I fished the hell out of them on the lower Potomac. One day, my brother and I caught almost 200 bass on them rigged wacky style.

My son pulling in his first catch of the day. A 3ft Atlantic sharp nose shark. He would catch 2 more.

“Dad that was awesome. I’m shaking right now.”

Not ideal to pull one in, but a great memory for him.

Took the kids out this am for some smallie fishing on the upper potomac. Decent morning no monsters but plenty of 12-16" fish.

    Artificial bait?

This was nearshore off Ocean City?

We had a guide come on our boat back in 2018 and we caught 2. Kids enjoyed the fight. Had something way bigger get onto a fish head but it came off. Sharking off OC has been good lately.

    Trepang, that looks awesome there!

This is a Senko. They don't look like much, but they are deadly on bass, both largemouth and smallmouth. There are a couple different ways to rig them, but their general action is, you cast them out in an area where fish are, and as it sinks(ding ding ding), it has a shimmy that resembles a dying shad or minnow. You generally let it sink slowly to the bottom. What you do after that will depend on how you have it rigged.

Took the kids to the creek out front. Son caught 3 minnows on his little kid rod and a creek chub. Daughter caught a minnow. Not very exciting but nothing makes me happier then making a big deal out of their nature accomplishments.

My son had never caught his own fish before so I told him he’s a fisherman now. While we were eating our venison tacos he said “Dad I’m a fisherman like you and uncle Nick (my best bud)”. He literally started crying on the 30 yard walk back to the house cuz he wanted to keep fishing! He even dug up the worm!

So dumb but I love it!

We went out to a private pond this morning. This was the biggest I caught 2lb 14oz. I caught 15 largemouth, and my brother got 10. The senko definitely holds up better on the crossover rings than anything else I've tried rigged wacky.
