Your application, 202000000, to purchase a regulated firearm from a local gun shop has been Not Disapproved by the Maryland State Police. Just stupid seems like they don't wanna say here you go you been approved after your unconstitutional 7 day wait is up I've changed a few things but this is the basics

Technicality in the wording of the law. Letter of the law only allows them to "disapprove" therefore if you are not disapproved, you are "not disapproved"
Law does not allow them to "approve"

When the law was written, the demonrats found a way of voicing their displeasure by coming up with a new term that wouldn't look like they approved of what we were doing.

That is probably when the demonrat central committee decided to start changing the meaning of words to suit their purpose. :mad54:

It means they tried their hardest to find a way, any way, to prevent you from taking that gun home. They just couldn't find one.

Think about the optics of it. If you buy a gun and are approved by the government to have that gun then do something crazy with it how does that look? Is the person who approved you partially at fault? Not disapproved just means we haven't found a way to disapprove you yet but we want to.

    Two main reasons:
    1) They hate us and the shooting sports. They will never approve it, the best they can do is not disapprove it.
    2) Liability - now when people start suing everyone for any violence that might occur, the gov't can disavow themselves of us because they never approved anything.

I think it means not disapproved yet. They leave off the ‘yet’. So if they discover something later they can frame it as ongoing or something that covers their process when it fails or doesn’t work out someway, etc.

Sounds like maintaining plausible deniability to me. "No, we never 'approved' a firearm transfer for that mass shooter." Making decisions in this state without a single thought and responsibility for years.

Only people in gun ban states think like this. BGOS.

Funny though, they "Approve" the wear and carry permit
Because they are actually giving you something, the permit. They aren't giving you the gun.

    Hence the difference in language.

One is "we didn't find a bar to you getting this gun" the other is "we are giving you a permit". You can't be not disapproved for a permit, unless the non-issuing agency is doing that. The issuing agency would HAVE to approve it.

It's similar the the guilty/not guilty thing. You are not found innocent, the state only fails to find you guilty.
