Uh, there are two readily available spec of AR 10 parts. DPMS spec and Armaltite spec. They do not interchange, but everyone and their mom makes parts that conform to both spec. Mega Machine specifically made the MaTen to conform to BOTH, so you can choose to go either Armalite OR DPMS spec.
The could if they wanted to. They're just telling the state to f off. Same thing is done by many manufacturers of firearms who also make "banned" or "restricted" parts because of their characteristics.
It's freedom of business.
Feds cannot mandate states to do anything through legislation. Feds CAN condition funds on state action though.
State is free to do what they wish. For example, lower BAC threshold to .08 and receive highway funds or keep BAC threshold at .12 and not receive funds.
So don't blame the feds...
Nothing like trying to tax less people for the same amount more people paid.
Just imagine when a company like McCormick realizes their business would be more profitable in a different state...
Seems like the latest gimmick to me.
Most all accessories are made for picatinny, and since it would be easier to make money off a new mounting option rather than advancement in accessories, someone made a new mounting option. Buy a rail AND all new accessories since your picatinny mounts...
