Doesn't matter per the cool factor, and just calling out the title....
That's a 44 special round. If he fired a 44 Magnum in that scandium Smith & Wesson, it would have a whole lot more recoil than that.
I was thinking Ruger LCRx in .38 special at 16oz unloaded. Not with +p ammo:

I would be looking at something like this, which my wife or daughter could handle...
.38, if dealing with multiple family members having little experience. Am trying to imagine my wife or daughter holding up, let alone firing a .357 hand cannon.
Ruger LC9 or EC9s. The EC9s is a budget model, but not a lot different other than sites and a few cuts. And you save a lot. Around $290+ for the EC9s.

I was never terribly accurate with it outside...
No point arguing with a pedant seeking to prove their intelligence by bending the point I was making.
"Nasty muzzle signature".... Not really. A little, maybe. Then again, I was not night shooting my +P rounds. And If you want to be pedantic and start assuming anything about numbers you...
Actually no, I was not quoting "off of the box."
Search any gel test. I was looking at numbers just North of 1100, and I rounded down a little. So what?
And you'll get almost the same numbers out of a 9mm round coming out of a Ruger LC9 OR 9S, without the flamethrower and muzzleblast-- just an FYI. A 9mm 124gr round will be just over 1100 fps.
I used to carry the LC9, and also a Ruger LCRx. The size was comparable. The LC9 has more rounds...
Another great choice for closeup work is the original hammer-fired Ruger LC9. VERY safe to carry it with a round in the chamber. A bit heavy trigger pull, but not crazy.
Front pocketable if you are over 6' and wearing Dockers that aren't skinny style.
Heck no. That is some powerful stuff. No doubt you could trade it. It is a quality round.
Don't try in this gun, but 185gr loads in .45 changed point of impact for me enough that I kinda preferred 230gr.
I would buy other Sig pistols, but probably avoid this one. The "fix" sure seemed more like a band-aid to me, rather than a fix.
Just like with phones, I like to wait a while before buying into the latest/greatest.
I used to front-pocket carry the LC9 in dockers. I am 6’2”, appx. Get a kydex holster with the thingie that grabs onto the pocket when you draw.
I miss that gun, but I couldn’t hit anything with it outside of 7 yards. My problem.
Hah, cool! Thanks for pointing that out.
Some of the purists on QRZ have really raked me over the coals for my mic settings because they’re way out of whack with what they feel they should be. I get their point because the bandwidth settings do run counter to what the parametric EQ should...
Yes, and the darned choke tube kept getting hung up at the ankle cuff when I drew, so now I wear bell-bottoms.
I’ll be back in style one of these days.
