I have taken 4 different kids ( all adults now ) out to get their first deer. The excitement and rush is indescribable. Sadly only one of them still hunts, but they still tell me how grateful they were for me taking them.

Tell us more about the hunt. How excited was he? Shot placement ? etc

He did a great job was very calm the deer was walking towards us and he shot it in the neck at 20 yards. As many deer as I have shot over the years I’ve never had a feeling like that.

I'll keep you in mind. You will pay for part of the butchering cost.

Since I use a professional butcher, I just make them pay a percentage of the butchering cost. I have done this with whole or partial deer.

I got a broken tine 5 pt this morning. From the look of the broken points on the other side he had an attitude problem. Note to self: next time wait until the deer is facing the field instead of the creek. It would have made life easier this morning.
