It is because of our FEDERAL system that wildlife is managed at the state level.Wait until you try to hunt big game on FEDERAL land, you know, OUR land, out west.
Talk about Res/ NonRes disparity!
I believe firmly in local management of local habitat/populations. Not sure I can say that for federal ownership of public lands.
(To be clear, what I'm saying is that I'm okay with each state's fish & game agency, funded by license sales, giving preference to their residents who are democratically closest to the management decisions. As much as I think there is a fundamental right to hunt & fish, I also respect residents of the various states choosing to do things their own way.)
