There has been a guy displaying Lugers outside the show floor- his guns are for display only, not for sale.

I've been going to that show since 1971, and have come home home with a gun of some sort almost every year. Bought my first '03 Springfield there in '71- a Mark I, for $70.

I still miss it being in the old 5th Regiment Armory, but I will admit parking is easier now.

I'm going, not sure which day though. I'm really into older guns and one day if I ever become rich and shameless I'll make a point to collect a nice assortment of antique lever guns.

You certainly can take it .HE may not want it ,someone will. Keep this in mind though you will get LOWBALLED by the dealers there.Your best bet is to carry it around with some sort of sign ,people will approach you and you can get a dealer there to do the transfer. Here is a good example of some not all of the dealers there. I brought a all matching k98 there with a sign on it for sale. The same dealer I bought it from the year before waved me over to his table ,obviously he didn't remember selling it to me the year before. paid $1,300 the year before{ it is a really nice one good blueing very good wood} .He said I'll give you $600.00 for it the stock has been sanded? WTF I just laughed and walked away. The stock was NOT sanded, some k98'sincluding mine are not waffenampt marked on the stock.Even if he was right it doesn't devalue the rifle to the point of a good RC.

I'll be at a PA auction on Saturday so I'll try to make the show on my way home if time allows. Hopefully I'll be sporting a smile and something very rare!
Always a good show, esp. when looking for US arms parts and accessories. Don't expect to find great deals as the hall is filled with advanced sellers and collectors so there's no lack of knowledge when it comes to market value. But if you've been chasing an item made of unobtanium then this would be a good place to search. Plus lots of "modern arms" like US Krags, 1903 Springfields, Trapdoors, etc. Expect to take at least 2 hrs or more just to make one pass of the entire show, it's that big.

No. When they say "No Modern Pistols", they mean anything using fixed ammunition made after 1898.

As I mentioned previously, this is the one really outstanding show in this region. You won't see the usual stuff - no, this show has the real exotics. Cased duelling pistols. In-line flintlocks. Enough antiques to stock a good-sized museum. It's a museum...with most of the exhibits for sale.

At top-quality prices, of course. I'll put it like this...there are vendors and buyers from Europe who come to this one. It's a show with Buck Rogers - if you brought Big Bucks.

I have some guns from the 30s 40s and 50s with a modest collectors value. would I be frowned upon for trying to sell them there or would I find the perfect target buyers? Im also curious what the tables are like. A lot of 1000 dollar lever and bolt actions in obscure cartridges or is there stuff for the non collector crowd as well?
You can sell old firearms easily nowadays with Gunsamerica. On this web site there are plenty of collectors who will buy old rifles which are also non regulated , for now...

That has never been my observation when I've gone, but you definitely are not going to see Sigs or Glocks.

I think that in general, you're ok as long as:

1.) the gun is old, combined with...
2.) the gun was designed prior to 1898

So essentially you'll see old Winchesters, Colt SAAs and that kind of thing. There's also a boatload of old bolt military rifles, or at least I seem to recall that being the case from the last times I've gone.
