Yes, it is open to the top of the mountain near Mount Storm.

Depending on the car, the awesome roads are OFF of the four lane...

we got stuck going down the hill a few years back when a semi (truck and trailer) went over the side about halfway down.

same thing last month going between parsons and thomas on my streetbike.

You have a lot more on those roads to worry about than police though.

The road down into Lead Mine is "fun", but not as fun as the one from Aurora into Parsons...

True that... There's a reason family and friends call me "Deerslayer" and suggest I have little stickers of deer under my driver side window, lol! In my defense, statistically I'm still rather low for the number of miles I've driven over the years!!!

That said, I learned to drive in all of the twisties up and down the mtns in sleet and snow behind the wheel of a stretched minivan... I honestly have a hard time picking favorite roads!
