Would and have carried a .38 J frame, so a .44 would be fine. Reloading would not be an issue if I can find cases and primers. Not my first choice, but can make it work. I think too much emphasis is placed on capacity. Maybe makes sense for those who get paid to run towards danger, for most you’re more likely to need a fire extinguisher than a firearm day to day.
Car carried fire extinguisher for years and I’ve used one time. 9 years ago last week a major crash in my residential neighborhood, never saw it coming until it happened right in front of me. Drunk driver going over 70mph at 7:59am t boned an SUV at the intersection I was stopped at. Three occupants mangled in car and was catching fire. Went through my extinguisher and a neighbor ran out and gave me a second one. Fire dept was on shift change with overlap coverage provided by BWI but caused delay apparently, was over 15 minutes before first truck and about 9 minutes for first AACOPD unit. Felt like a lifetime and I didn’t think the occupants would survive, car had to be cut apart to pull them out.Nope, got insurance, let that shit burn. Bring some marshmallows and a rational argument.

Worth a read if not too expensive. IIRC I got my copy for about 20 bucks and it's on Amazon now for 180???
I'm subjected to the CA roster so the latest CCW SA's are LEO only and unobtainum or at a high premium. And the CA permit only allows for three handguns; so a snubby is one of my three. I've found I carry it the most and I train with it the most. But that's me; you do you.
There are other good reads out there but this one sticks in my mind. There are many options on CCW and in my opinion it's worth educating yourself. Even if you don't go in that direction, you learned something that may come in handy at some point.
Thanks for the kind words and additional book recommendations. At least for once I've done more than po some folks on MDS!I want to thank you for this recommendation. I got a copy a while ago, for thirty bucks plus tax and shipping. It had a snowball effect; I found a hardbound copy of Col. Applegate's Kill or Get Killed (signed by the author(!)), which led me to the Sykes and Fairbairn book, and a great book on point shooting, by Applegate and a co-author.
It also pushed me into picking up a Fitz Special type modified Colt 1917, which should be arriving at my door soon. It's not the 45LC that I might have preferred, but 45acp with half-moon clips is probably quicker to reload, as if I'd ever have to use it.

Your wish, and mine, fulfilled:
(Someday I'll have to get a real camera. Also, I have to get that hammer properly Bobbed.)
