    Two things:

Isn't wall penetration worse with a 9mm or am I mistaken on that?

Also, when he's talking about it being difficult for an officer armed with a 9mm handgun to hit a target beyond 50 yards, is he claiming that while being shot at that officers are regularly able to hit a human-sized target at 50 yards? If so, that's really something else....
yes, you are mistaken on that. 5.56 has way more wall penetration than 9mm. go to the youtube channel "the box of truth" for more

hitting a target at 50yards with any handgun is a challenge. Hitting a target with a rifle or carbine at 50 yards is relatively easy. It isn't the caliber that matters, it's the weapon system.
FBI testing in the 80s found that 5.56 duty rounds penetrated less walls and were less dangerous than the pistol rounds they were considering at the time when hitting walls because the high velocity rounds immediately fragment, destabilize, and start losing energy.

The problem with the original Box o’ Truth test is that they spaced the drywall so close together. I believe a subsequent test they did spacing them out like rooms are found what the FBI did that it reduced 5.56 drywall penetration more than it reduced pistol caliber penetration.

That's interesting. I'll read up on this. Thanks.

Anyone ever work with this a$$hole?

Brief summary: "I was a cop so I know things. AR-15's bad, Mmm-Kayyy? I know because I own one. No, I won't get rid of mine even though I'm not a cop anymore, but all others should be banned. Weapon of war!!"

And then he drops this gem:

Uhm, did he not watch the videos from the school? They had every bit the firepower that kid had, and more of it. But he paints the illusion that they were outgunned so he has something to point to when he declares that all AR-15's should be banned, including ones already owned. But he won't lead by example and turn his in.

This guy is a huge douche and with our breadth of viewers here, I'm sure someone worked with him, unless of course he's lying about his credentials which is entirely possible.
I have stated in the past most DC cops are ahole anti 2A morons. One of my younger brothers is a DC FF Captain and he told me as such. Guns for me not for thee. He said most FF, whether black or white or whatever tend to be a lot more pro 2A.

    Opinions are like butt-holes.
    Everybody has one.
They're best not flaunted in public for the most part.

What a stupid argument. If you were to make an honest argument you could say that glock clones and AR15's are the easiest to build ghost guns and convert to "fully automatic". Tons of parts, 3d prints, etcetera. Not because AR15 is some Wunderwaffe or incredible caliber.

Years in the boating industry and boat ownership have me stuck on the "tow line" (as opposed to an anchor line or dock line)

    I don't mind constructive criticism. :)

Unlike some people around here. :innocent0

I bought my 1st gun for a specific purpose every gun after that had a purpose but was bought mostly because I could and I wanted that gun at the time. Following his logic we only should buy stuff we have articulable need for.

Wow,, the dude was all over the place,,
Police are out gunned because bad guys have semi and full auto,,,
5.56 is horrendous powerful round and it's extra "killy" out of an AR platform.
All semi autos are extra bad,,,
The dozen or more LEOs at Uvalde forgot they had semi auto carbines,, so they stood around for an hour,,,
Any gun that shoots past 300 yards is a weapon of war.

This guy is a turd. He has trained the "military". Yeah bullsht.

Military unit: "Hey, we need some carbine training, anyone know a guy?"
Soldier: " Sir, I have a friend who is a DC street cop"
    Military Unit: "Good enough".

So many of these guys out there have "Trained military and law enforcement" for the bonafides. Just so much BS out there.
