But, don't you know that all the violence in DC is caused by handguns? Gosh, its not the criminals, its the guns themselves committing all those crimes! I have to work hard daily to resist the evilness of my handguns, they are always calling to me and saying " lets go kill someone!" OMG!!!!!!1!!!!1

    Yeah....

I keep mine in a safe to keep them from running wild in the "Gun Free Zones". Before I open the door, I bang on the safe real hard three or four times then yell, "All of you put your sights against the wall and spread your magazines apart". Then I open the door just a crack to make sure that they all comply with my commands. I always have someone else behind me "watching my back". They will pull me out and slam the door shut if any of my guns even twitches a trigger.

    You can't be too careful.

Thank you to all who showed up to demonstrate. I was unable to attend due to being in Airman Leadership School, and I can't get any time off right now. I did talk about the case over several of the breaks with other students though.

most people walking by seemed to support us...including one school field trip all the way from texas who seemed to support us pretty vocally while goin by. there were a few people on the other side from the brady campaign and a few college law students that were anti-gun hippees but seemed like we had them outnumbered

Statement of Paul Helmke President of the Brady Center On Supreme Court Oral Arguments

    For Immediate Release:

    (202) 289-7319

Washington, D.C. – Paul Helmke, President of the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, issued the following statement:

"Today, the Justices of the Supreme Court thoroughly discussed the Second Amendment of the Constitution for the first time in nearly 70 years, in the District of Columbia v. Heller case. Their probing questions, and the lawyers' responses, highlighted the complex history and competing approaches to gun regulation in our country. I am hopeful that their ruling will uphold the right of people in communities like the District to enact common sense gun measures they feel are needed to protect themselves and their families.
and many citizens, think the Second Amendment limits our ability to enact common sense gun restrictions. Today's arguments, however, demonstrated broad support from all sides for responsible regulations concerning guns.

"Think how much safer we all would be if we made it harder for dangerous people to get dangerous weapons nationwide, not just in a few areas."

I gotta tell you guys, smokey0118 was most impressive today dealing with some snide Brady-phile. He was calm, cool and collective....I was not.

I have no patience for dealing with people in that kind of setting. I do great speaking formally at the general assembly, but that kind of bantering is more than my level of tolerance can bear.

McCain Weighs in on Gun Ban Case
The Corner on National Review Online ^ | March 18, 2008 | David Freddoso

ARLINGTON, VA — U.S. Senator John McCain today issued the following statement on District of Columbia v. Heller:

"Today, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on District of Columbia v. Heller, a landmark case for all Americans who believe as I do that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to keep and bear arms. I am proud to have joined in an amicus brief to the Court calling for a ruling in keeping with the clear intent of our Founding Fathers, which ensures the Second Amendment rights of the residents of District of Columbia are reaffirmed."

haha i liked this one..."A health advocate said if the number of death induced by handguns can serve the basis for the government to ban handguns, then the government should ban doctors first because they incidentally kill more people than handguns.

In the United States, 700,000 physicians result in 120,000 accidental deaths each year (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services) while 80,000,000 cause 1,500 accidental deaths each year, according to viatminb17.org. Statistically, doctors are about 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners."
