Gee, member for 8 months, post count of .7 per day, I have access to all sites. If I didn't I guess I would post a message to an admin and find out what I am doing or not doing, or what I needed to do to gain access. I wouldn't sit around flapping my gums about NOT having access, but then, that's just me. It's not what you know, it's how you go about trying to help or to find answers to questions that you have. I think that on one forum that I frequent that I helped a guy who was out of work find a job by suggesting an avenue that he had not thought of.

I think we all need to just move along, the rules were put in buy the owner of this site for a reason, it's his site so we need to abide by his rules. I for one think he runs a pretty good forum, keep up the good work.

Not that it matters, but I think it is a good rule.... Do any of you remember Hakr1000? He was the one that was fishing in "conservative minded" forums, and than posting the material on The Daily KOs, of which he is a contributor. We don't need people like that, and he was banned.

would be interesting to see some stats, members post count less than 50, new members since, members with most posts etc. To those who complain, I at one time was told I needed 50 posts to even hint of posting anything for sale, in which I wasn't posting anything to sale, was told nicely so edited my post and moved on, even had a "member" who was looking out for me, told me I might want to edit my post (I was tired, sleepy and not thinking). For those who haven't run a forum, it is a lot of work, just keeping people in line, adults, the site owner is responsible, the host can pull the plug at any given time. And with all of the news attention with anything related to "guns", the way our own government mines data off of sites based on queries of certain words. So we all need to move on, look at the plus side "our community" is still up and running, while others are on the "radar", others are gone. DD214 , you are doing a he**uva job, and keep it up.

Actually what came to my mind was

Pompous and Arrogant came in a close 2nd and 3rd due to you being a self described, "honorable man, leader and patriot". I think some of the members here have enough education, experience, sand and grit to make that determination based on your words and actions.

I know I'm definitely a lurker, I have usually only posted about things I know about, usually construction and home improvement issues. However, I do understand DD214's concerns and will work on contributing more to this forum. I look forward to the day that I have EARNED access to my usual haunt, the water cooler. Until that day, to dd214 and the other mods

Apology extended
To all who may have been offended by my erroneous post about not being allowed to initiate a new thread, my apologies. [In my defense, I did catch the error within a few minutes and edited my post to that effect, with an apology.]
That post obviously broke the ancient dictum, "Do not put mouth in gear before brain is fully engaged."
I think that I am now beginning to understand why DD214 took this action and what is needed to be certified as no longer among the unwashed.
OK. I now begin to engage in posts of useless drivel to increase my post count to an acceptable level, most likely violating the above ancient dictum yet again and with increasing frequency. [Rapidly pulling on flame suit and fire retardant underclothing.]
BTW, no insult or complaint was/is intended. I simply didn't understand what had happened or what the requirements were to be reinstated. [It's not those things that you don't know that are most likely to rear up and bite you. It's those things of which you are absolutely certain that just aren't so!]

I don't get why some of you guys are so bent out of shape. If it's that important to you, make a few quality posts. If not, move on. You can still come back when you need firearm info, you just won't see the Buffalo wing recipes and WTF thread.
Seriously, it may take a week to get enough posts to access the cooler. Am I missing something? I don't get all the hullabaloo.
