      55 gr vs. 6n gr

for shooting paper and a disaster situation (god forbid) you will be well served with 55g M193 556. You can get good 193 from brands like IMI and PPU (sealed primers, nice brass, sufficiently hot rounds). M193 has excellent (but unpredictable) terminal performance. The 62g green tips are usually...

      Glock 17 vs. Glock 19?

they are so similar it's really just up to which one fits your hand better. obviously if you've managed to get a carry permit you would know the smaller item is preferable for most people. for just range/HD use I like to er on the side of the longest barrel with the longest sight radius with...

Looking for suggestions for 9mm ammunition for a future purchase

For range ammo doesn't matter... i personally only shoot brass or aluminum cased as I've had multiple issues in multiple weapons with Tula (steel cased). Head to walmart and get some cheap Blazer or federal aluminum or some brass PPU (my favorite cheap ammo) For carry in maryland (HA!)... I...

Smith & Wesson loses Army’s handgun contract

If they are sticking with 9mm just keep the m9... its a reliable platform with decent mags. also, as much as people bemoan the slide mounter decocker, it's a safe mechanism for training many people, especially since a lot of those carrying sidearms are not in primary combat roles Now if they...

      55 gr vs. 6n gr

green tip cuts right through empty propane tanks... those little things are nasty. don't have a great rep on human targets, however that's probably more internet lore than anything

      Picking up lowers tomorrow

I second the trash bag idea... would have saved me some time when I did my first assembly. You'll be amazed at how easy it actually is. Also, don't dry fire a bare lower. It can damage the hammer (apparently). I will test trigger function but put a finger in front of the hammer to prevent it...

yep.... managed to escape rockville only to come right back! Never lived in baltimore before but glad I won't be getting annihilated by taxes in montgomery county. we shall see if baltimore is better I should be able to move to South Carolina or Florida in 2 years though, so its not too bad...

New guy moving from PA to Baltimore (originally from NW DC)

Funny thing is I'm actually still working in PA, but must move so my wife and I can still live together with our differing work locations. Such temptation to get a little apt there to maintain proper residency, but it's not in the cards. Colt 6721 HBAR is 100% legal correct? That is my...

Sadly it's not HBAR... and I'm too lazy to break it apart and install a legal barrel as it was somewhat of a budget build anyway and I'm not too attached to it yet

New guy moving from PA to Baltimore (originally from NW DC)

Sad day for me to moving back to MD... but alas my career makes it necessary. Used to live in Rockville and grew up in DC so I'm used to the area. Very sad to have to let go of my AR though. Hoping to contribute to the forum! Thank you for having me My first move is ditching my AR for a...
