    This is a Remington 597 that I have been tinkering with for the last couple of months. Replaced the original factory plastic stock with a Boyds Evolution and stuck in a VQ extractor. I bought the stock on line from a guy on another site with the intention of refinishing it in a camo pattern. When I got it and realized how well the brown and gray laminate blended, I decided to leave it alone. Did a little work to the guide rods and polished the interior of the receiver and it is a very accurate and reliable squirrel assasinator:gun7:

    Gotta love them Ruger Mark pistols:) Here is my Mark II competition slab side with an Ultra Dot. This is a serious golf ball shooter and I have taken a mess of squirrels and rabits with this one.

    That's a nice looking grip... what is it and how do you like it?

    They are Hogue rubber grips and I like them a lot. The factory grip had a thumbrest and that may be fine for shooting from a bench. But, in the field the thumbrest really got in the way for me. I have also replaced the worn grip screws since I took this picture with stainless hex heads.
