Hey folks. Picked up a box of older bullets for cheap the other day. They are Hornady 265 gr Flat Points and I intend on loading with 2400. I found a load listed in an older (Third Edition) Hornady Handbook that gives COL 1.61" and max charge @ 21.0 gr. of 2400. Does anyone have any more recent data for this combo that would verify the max?

Lyman 47th Edition lists the load for that bullet using 2400 @ 16.2 gr (starting) to a max of 20.2. CCI 300 primers and OAL = 1.610.

    Hope that helps.

Hmm. . . I thought I had read an article about 2400 (and a few other powders) becoming a bit more "potent" over the years due to improvements in manufacturing. . . hence my original concern.

Just to add a bit more detail, I am using Federal LPs (#150) and shooting a Ruger SRH with 9.5" bbl.
