I have one on the way too. inkd, what kind of setup would you do for your SBR? I'd need some ideas. Thanks
I have no idea. I've never done one before. I would probably go with a plain wood/laminate stock and that's it.

Seems like a dangerous $129 if you have an 870. Don’t want to get hit with constructive intent to make a SBS even though you can buy an 14” non nfa shockwave. I think Scott’s used to sell something similar where there was a stamp or something involved never was super interested.
The Urban Broom. Like the Mossberg Shockwave, but with a Remington receiver. The grip made it a pistol, so no AOW stamp was required.

I can own anything I want and will do so. Owning the barrel doesn't mean I made an SBS.

G-man, come get me. I have demonstrated an intent and propensity to shorten ... things.

Yes thank you for the name, I found the thread. https://www.mdshooters.com/threads/for-sale-14-non-n-f-a-class-3-remington-870-12gauge.147333/

It seems the trick here is the virgin receiver which makes this firearm a pistol in the eyes of MD and I think the ATF identifies this as a firearm because of its OAL. But if you take a receiver that previously identified as a shotgun with a shoulder stock and add a sub 18” barrel you have now made a Short Barrel Shotgun.

The laws suck, but knowing the laws can keep you out of a lot of legal trouble.
Anyways this video comes to mind.

I got one too. Be here tomorrow- 2 days shipping OH to MD.
Would love to find a used Police Magnum or LEO trade in to SBS. Will add Wilson Combat 1 rd extension with the sling plate and Mesa Tactical 4 round side saddle carrier. Then get all cerakoted OD green with the walnut corn cob forend and stock.

Mine cleaned up. Took a 12 gauge brush on an electric drill but all the dirty finally came out and the bore is perfect. This was a good buy

LEO trade in 870s still pop up in batches periodically. Kings, Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore, and others get them
That's what I'm keeping an eye out for now. Not even so much a LEO trade. Just a reasonably priced beat up 870 is all I want.

Just openedup the box. I was pleasantly suprised by the condition of mine. A couple of minor marks that disapperared with some CLP. The rear sight was jacked to the left on mine too. The bore wasn't clean but not filthy either. Cleaned and shined right up. Off to find a Police Magnum to SBS.

Just got mine in and am very happy with it. Minor scuff marks and the bore is not bad at all. I'll give everything a good scrubbing tonight.

Now, I just need to find a decently priced shotgun to SBR. I cannot believe what 870's are going for.

I've got a pretty scarred trade in 870 I got a while back. They still pop up affordable every now and then. If I see an 870 for $300 I buy it nowadays without hesitation. Finish can be fixed if you want but we daw how nuts shotgun prices went
