Well a friend of mine left his AK47 at the house and his dad got board and decised to attempt to put the new furniture on it that he bought his son. To make a long story short he butchered the AK to the point it appears not safe to shoot. :mad54:

Does anyone know a good armorer that can assess the damage and repair it?

The main damage is just behind the post that rises from the barrel to the gas tube (on an AR this would be the gas block). The outside metal is peeled back like a banana.

Will try to get some pics. If all we need to do is replace that tube does anyone know of a good place to get the parts? Instructions or videos?

    Thanks,

    Dave

We're going to need pictures... but if it's just the gas tube, that should be fixable. Might even be a good excuse to get an Ultimak.

    Need PIX!
AK's are nearly FUBAR proof, unless someone runs amok with a dremmel.

I will post pics as SOON as I can get them.

He actually used a hammer, screwdriver, punch and a file on the thing. And a dremmel for good measure. Meant well but trashed the rifle.

I will try to get some pics in a while.

Looks like someone didn't know the furniture over the gas tubes twists off, and thought they had to bed the metal to remove and replace it. Not a safety issue from what I see, but I would get a new gas tube for cosmetic reasons.
