    FREEEEEE AT LAST!!!
    or knifesmithing???

on my last trip home i got to messing around my pops old shop and found some of my old projects that he and i did a while back. There were a few handles lying around that we started so it got the wheels turning and the next day i pretty much a finished product, still working on getting the edge sharpened.

Tried to get some pics up but my bb is being gay and won't email pictures.

Anyway here is what i started...
Brazilian Cherry handle (out of my Grandparents' flooring from their home)
just regular Steel for the blade (piece came out of my grandpa's shop)
I used the steel because it was readily available

Again, i've only got to finish the edge and get it sharpened. so far i've been using my lansky tool, still on the Extra course stone (been sharpening it for about 6 hours total so far)

I've done some blacksmithing and really enjoy doing it. I've also done handles for my own knives and swords. Nothing special really but it is fun. I like sharp stuff almost as much as guns!

I think he might be pissed when he finds a handle shaped hole in his floor :)

My ex-girlfriend's father makes some pretty amazing knives. I'll buy some and post pics. I think we should put together a GB on some MDS knives :D

    FREEEEEE AT LAST!!!

here ya go, its in the lansky sharpening jig, i don't want to take it out until the blade is done. i'm still on the extra course stone :(

The handle is kind of long compared to the blade

I'm working on another shorter handled blade right now w/ a walnut/maple handle. I think i'm going to order a blade blank for this one though.

Anyone do leatherwork to make a decent sheath?
