Having CCW insurance is always a good back up plan and goes hand in hand with CCW. God forbid you ever need to use your gun, but if you do, in this area, better to have than have not.

It would be wise to carry some type of "CCW" or self defense insurance. It will come in handy if you have any incident that involves self defense, even those that don't involve a firearm. I personally have U.S. LawShield, but there are a couple other great options out there that I'm sure will be debated in this thread.

I just signed up with US LawShield, went with a full year coverage to make sure the wife and myself are not up the creek - especially since I got my wear and carry the other day.
Consider this a New Years reminder to cover your ass, before you need it.

CCW Safe appears to be a better deal than USCCA (these are the big two it seems). I went with USCCA for some of the training it offers: turns out, most of the videos aren't all that, and the training that is with an in-person firearms trainer is available whether you are a member or not. I paid the year up front so I won't switch until it is time to renew.

I got the insurance for the legal representation you get if there’s an incident since, justified or not, you’re leaving the scene in cuffs. I think all of the plans give you a card for your wallet with a number to call for immediate representation. If I’m ever in that situation, I’ll be so out of my depths. They’ll be my one phone call.
