Here is a chance to get into a Colt AR-15 Armorer's Class. Colt classes are extremely difficult to get in unless you are active law enforcement, active military, or attached to a government agency. All you need to get into this class is proof of citizenship and provide a copy of a carry permit or other approved documents to show you're not prohibited.

I'll have to check the distance from Sun City West to Paulden and see how doable it is.

In the late '90s I was selected in a NRA lottery to attend a Colt AR-15/1911 armorer's course being held at Quantico...free of charge. Just my luck work told me I had to go to FLETC that week for in-service training and there was no getting out of it. Plus...a snow storm hit and played hell getting of the the DC region...the armorers course may have been cancelled anyway for all I know.

It appears another day of dates have been added, and currently have availability.

And remember folks, late July in central AZ is hit and dry. Not as bad as southern AZ, but it will dry your sinuses out quickly. Hydrate hydrate hydrate before and during your trip.

Has anyone done training here? I got a free gift certificate for a 2 day class wondering if worth the airfare/expenses etc.

So it says COLT will provide all firearms for the training, but in the reservation details it asks for your primary weapon (required). Any idea what to do here?

Its a question for the LE classes. The want to know what your department issues or what you carry under your department's personal purchase rifle program. You can leave it blank

For those of you who took the class how was it? What about the written test?

    Thanks

The written test was very easy. I think it was 20 questions.

It was worth taking in my opinion. I learned several things that are useful.

I'm of the opinion that there is always more to learn. Always the student.

I'm going to try and get them to do a class on the East Coast.

I was worried about needing to memorize a pile of specs, etc. At least I won't be taking it in Oregon :)
