    2nd murder of the evening

I think there’s also a 3rd but it’s kinda a funky scene. Either on DC or PG.

****Aren't we eventually gonna run out of bad people killing each other, or is it like Dorito's where no matter how many you eat - they will make more! ??

Doesn't usually work that way .

Historically ,in at least one Fued , it was peaceful once every single person on a particular side was dead.

But in populated urban areas , there are always asaociates and understudys .

More typically a payback cycle , Or an absence will create a vacuum , with multiple people/ groups competing for the up for grabs turf/ status .

9 shot in a drive by including a 9 year old. In fairness to the DC police though this happened at 1:00 AM so it’s actually July 5th.

Last night DC had at least 4 murders and I think the total was 17 shot. That’s awful. I genuinely love holidays but hate working them to much violence.

    That's so sad. Damn.

Also, the city is deploying teams of non-police peacekeepers. They are violence interrupters, Department of Recreation workers and others. They will be in 28 different spots in higher crime areas. They’ll have drinks and snacks to give away and they’re encouraged to interact with the public on July 3 from 6 p.m. until 1 a.m. and then on July 4 from 4 p.m. until midnight.

Right after they stopped the drinks and snacks.

Just extend the free refreshments until 0200 for Labor Day weekend , and it will be trouble free .

Damn permit holders acting up again
In a briefing about the "Quiet and inquisitive scholar who loved fashion and football" in January of this year, Chief Contee said:

There are over 12,000 people who are CCW holders in DC.
There are over 34,000 people who have registered firearms in their homes.

Curious what those numbers are now.

DC is definitely NOT making the permitting process easier, cheaper, or less infringing.

    Probably only modest change .

For all the expense and hassle , most of die hard Rights Activists already have theirs , and people moving in , will self select to move to Va or Md instead .
