Extremely dangerous....
...if you are a mouse, frog or bird-egg.
Black Rat Snake. Not any danger to you.

A very good snake! Based on scales and color, it look like a young Black Rat Snake. One thing, they can grow quite long and they climb trees - had an 8 1/2-footer crawl across my MIL's driveway last summer during a family get-together - completely docile and beautiful!
General rule for identifying dangerous snakes: Look at the eyes. All black means harmless. Slits mean venomous.
Never fear, the clown is here! I'll protect ya!Still scares the hell out of me.....
