    Another option to consider:

"The sub-compact easily allows for the shooter to switch from a 10-round to a 15-round magazine, depending on the situation. The 10-round magazine is optimal for carrying concealed while the 15-round magazine gives the shooter the feel and performance of a full-size pistol, making this the most versatile gun in the Walther Catalog."

There's few better common sense answers than whichever fits you and you shoot best. Same answer for every question about "which gun should I get?"
Everything else is just individuals' opinion on how the gun fits THEM and how well THEY shoot it

Yes. And this is why I stated "this is what I use" as opposed to "this is what is best". That being said, if a bunch of people favor a particular pistol, that does tell you something, and vice versa.

A bunch of people like Old Grandad bourbon. Does that tell me it's a good bourbon? Absolutely not. It's neither what I like nor fits me. If you can't make decisions based on personal fit and form then by all means get opinions from strangers on what's best for you.

So I’m planning on picking something up to conceal. What are some great small frame pistols these days? I’m skinny, so nothing I have currently is going to work.
I’ve also never been a huge fan of the Glock models I’ve shot in the past, though I know they come highly recommended in general.

    Thanks all!

I wish the VP9 with the button existed when I bought one with the paddle release. Whole reason I got rid of mine. I loved the ergos and it shot well. Just couldn’t hit the paddle without breaking my grip.
I use my index finger, not my thumb. Been practicing that for years. I may get one of the button models for carry, though.
