I was in last week to purchase some bloodworms and overheard the owner of Bay Pro had purchased the gun business from the person that used to own and run it.

In my few experiences there, it can only get better. So fingers crossed…

Yes gunrunners arsenal did change ownership Bay Country Guns Now is in charge so in your explanation yes ownership did change. I’m the owner of Bay Country crabbing and outdoors as well.

Nice to heat the recommendations or good reviews for a local FFL. I'm also curious about the transfer process. I stopped in last Saturday and asked if I saw a gun I liked online somewhere, and Gun Runners Arsenal was listed as a FFL on their website, would it be OK to order it as long as I contacted them first thing next businees day -- his answer was that I had to come in and "pay for the gun and sign a contract."

As far as ordering a gun from another FFL I have 15 guns in the safe right now that no one has picked up and they have been there for almost a year and a half so that’s why we have people call and we read them a contract and make them aware of what is going on or they can come in and sign the paper but we do over the phone transfers such as payment as long as we have an FFL

Are you saying that there are no provisions for you to return or resell an abandoned purchase?

Now I'm curious about the regulations for FFL's with regards to abandoned purchases.
Is the firearm not the FFL's property until it is transferred to the customer?

I know in service shops, if the property in for repair gets left for more than 30 days, it becomes the shop's property.

In BCG23’s defense, I DID say the wrong business name. I mentioned Bay Pro, when I meant to say Bay Country. For that I apologize! I can see where he wants to clarify the difference.

But, it does appear, I heard correctly (while in the store) with Bay COUNTRY purchasing/taking over for Gunrunners. So not really posting erroneous facts of which I have no idea.

As for my other statement, I stand by my opinion about the present situation within the store. I wish BCG23 great luck in getting the entire business up to speed with them being in complete control of all retail lines

I am in construction and I have to pay a minimum of $20 an hour to get someone to sweep floors and some benefits to go with that.

Point is,, in the age of the internet, mail order, etc - Nearly impossible for a LGS to be competitive and/or turn a profit.
