Proposed amendment exempts private sales between individuals.
(Defeats the purpose of the bill.)
Say bye-bye.

Really? They got rid of the $30 cap??? What were the gun stores not making enough money as it was?
There goes the only stop-gap against price gouging. Absolutely no reason to do that besides pure spite.
Everything else is irrelevant
My only guess is some dealers bitched and decided to roll over on the whole thing and play nice with the Dems once the $30 cap got lifted.
No other logical explanation IMO. We've seen this crap before in other states like Illinois. Dealers would rationally be on board with a private sale ban - it makes them money.
I'm sure people will tell me this isn't true and THEY SUPPORT 2A but just look at how no import ban has ever ended lol.
Money comes first

IMO, you are giving the legislators too much credit that they would reach out to or hear from the dealers. I put this squarely in the "if we let the dealers charge what they want, they will make it expensive, and the gun bunnies will get screwed, so let's remove the cap" camp of legislative sausage making. My only guess is some dealers bitched and decided to roll over on the whole thing and play nice with the Dems once the $30 cap got lifted.

I think that I see a problem in the SB208 text as amended.
Updated OP. They've posted up the SB208 Third Reader Text.
