Hi all!
I just shot my first firearm few days ago at SEG range in Ashburn! (Surprise bday present from family) I shot a Glock and that was fun! Then upgraded to an AR15 they had at the range and I’m in LOVE! The AR15 was so much easier to shoot, fun and less recoil than I was expecting. I’m not sure what I was afraid of before!!! This is fun. The least exciting part of the whole experience was reloading the last 15th round into the Glock magazine. My thumbs started hurting after a few reloads and I couldn’t get the last round in. Reloading the AR15 was easy peazy.
Long story short, ever since I’ve shot that AR15 with fancy carbon fiber on top of the barrel and red dot scope. I want to get one! The one I shot was Christensen Arms CA556 Multi. The guy said that gun was over 2k at the range. I don’t want to spend that much on my first AR.
I was excited to get one of the PSA AR15 as my beginner gun but they can’t ship it to MD built. They can’t even ship a completed lower or upper to MD. Kind of bummed. It was on sale at $550 and now went back up to 599
I’ve been trying to read the MD state laws on “rifles” and it’s all confusing and not clear whatsoever. I’ll continue to read and try and find out how to get an AR15 registered to me.
All I could figure out was I need to have the rifle be shipped to FFL and fill out a 77r. I’m going to search this forum and see if there is a simple guide on how to get your first AR in this state. If any of you have bought a PSA rifle online and got to registered in MD I’d appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction.
I wished whoever writes these laws used simple English……
