Fire and maneuver. He's talking about a combat patrol. In a hostile situation this is going to require much more ammo. And, ideally, fully automatic weapons. Shooting full auto (until you get into heavier weapons) is not terribly useful for much besides suppression, but it's the best choice if that is what you need doin'.

What's your mission? Personal defense=2 or 3 mags. Fighting off angry rioters=2 or 3 mags probably. Combat patrols...more is more! Whatever you have is enough, until it isn't.
