When I had all my guns before my divorce, here is what I had.

    S&W M&P full size - I had 11 mags
    Ruger 10/22 - 6 10 round mags and 2 BXD-25's that actually worked,
    Tikka T3 Lite - 5 mags
    For my 3 AR's I had 15 standard capacity mags. 5 each.

Did you sell the guns after the divorce or did someone keep them?

So, I was reading some articles about the amount of magazines you should have per gun. The averages were 3-6 for semi-auto pistols and 5-10 for semi-auto rifles.

What's the ideal amount of magazines you like to have per gun?

Is it a rifle, shotgun, or a pistol?

What kind of action do all of these mags serve?
    No less than too.

Inexpensive magazines by the score. STI mags? Since I only have 2 pistols that take them, 6 in .40 and 10 in 9mm. I use a hanging shoe storage thing to hold them. Much easier to find the ones I need that way.

I have approx 75 5.56 pmags and a handful to GI steel mags for my 5.56/300BO and I am right in line with their recommendations for most of my pistols. At one point one of the vendors I use to use for reloading supplies was giving a free PMAG with every $100 spent. Had to have everything shipped to PA but I ended up with a couple dozen over a year or so.

ive got one or more ar type things… and about 30mags. Two are low caps, One is a 20, one is a 10 for bench/sighting/hunting, and the rest standard mags.

about 8-10 for each glop. 3-4 mags for other pistols

You never know when you will be the mayor of your neighborhood handing out weapons, magazines, ammo to fight off the invaders like ukraine, israel, maryland. one day everything is normal, the next day everything is in shambles and you are wishing you had more food, water, bullets, toilet paper, medical supplies, etc. Don't wait. spam is not as bad as everyone says. I like it.

You only need one more magazine of each type than you currently have.

Check your current stock on a regular basis and when you check be sure to then apply the above to get to the proper number.

I used to joke that's what the $99 Mosins were for... until they more than quadrupled in value. Now it would be cheaper to pass out budget ARs.

What's the nearest friendly outpost north of Thurmont?
Gettysburg Trading Post is the closest I could find.

I like Gunbunker off of 83, not too far from you, about an hour.

If he is specifically going for mags, Gunbunker prices them for desperate Marylanders. You'll pay a premium there.

Gettysburg Trading Post doesn't do that. And if you find something else you like, they are happy to ship it for you. They even sent me text messages when it shipped.

Good to know, thanks. I just stopped in there on my way to Harrisburg up 83 a couple times.
