Thanks for the info man. I will try that route. If I cannot get it done that way, I will work with all pawn, at least I know they have them and not telling me a 6 month wait like freds.

Do you know off hand if they will ship in pistols as well? The guy I spoke with at the counter said while it is legal, it is not their policy, they had an H&K 45 in which I thought the price was pretty good.

They also had one of the Century 7.62's I would have liked to walk out with.

I don't see why not. Never hurts to ask. As for Fred's I'd say away. Got te same response when I was lookin for my pistol. Went into Lawmen Supply in Clinton and they had no less than a dozen in the case.

Yep. Bass Pro, blond girl looking at handguns with her boyfriend. Guy behind counter asked her what kind of gun she was interested in. Her reply: "I like the shiny ones". :banghead:

Guys make those comments all the time. They just use different words. Look at all the "gun porn" threads in the forums.

Reminds me of the time once when I was in West Marine. I saw someone eying a GPS (this is when they were relatively new) and I said, "looking to move away from the paper charts I see...." He said he never bothered to learn how to use them, and wanted one so he didn't have to ever learn. I informed him that GPS' don't navigate for you, they simply give you a position... I asked what would happen if he ever got lost... His response was, "call my buddies and ask where the heck I was." I said "on your radio?" He said "I don't have a radio on the boat, I just use my cell phone....." :sad20:

Anyone ever catch a big whiff of pot stink from someone browsing the gun counter? That crap irritates me...

Salisbury Gander, two kids maybe 21 looking at revolves in the case. Decide they want to see S&W 500 mag.

GM Employee: Have you ever fired a large revolver before?
    Kid: Nope...does it hurt?
GM Employee:It can. What have you fired before?
    Kid: I have a Ruger .22 pistol
GM Employee: I would suggest starting out with something smaller. (Tries to show them a 38/357 GP100)
Kid: Nahh...what the difference between the 500 and that 460?
    GM employee: Nothing...
Kid: How much is the ammo?
GM Employee: (Shows them a box of 25 rounds for some ridiculousness price)
    Kid: never mind! (walks off)

I had a wtf? moment today. I was discussing the msp back log and other firearm related things with a fellow employee when one of the new guys overheard and decided to join in. He is in his 20's and one of your typical gangsta wanna- bes. He says he likes to go shooting too. I said cool what do have? His exact words are he has a " smith and wesson beretta glock 16". I was so dumb struck by that I had no response other than wtf?

Hunting at a commercial outfit in SC. At 10:20 I hear a shot; they are supposed to pick us up at 10:30. At 10:40 I hear another shot - same place but sounds much different. I suppose it's a handgun and the guide used the tracking dog and killed the wounded deer with a handgun.

Wrong, the 1st shot killed an 8 point the second killed the roof of the deer stand.

I'm not even that new....but it's the first time I read this thread! Hilarious!:lol2:

I stumbled across it while reading about AR-15's during the month or so between my buying my SP1 and joining up here. Somebody else posting a similar experience in a gun shop a while back reminded me of it.:)

Now we just need to brace ourselves for the "no necro threads" whiners.

Back in the 90's Waldorf had a great gun store called Accokeek guns. It's where I fell in love with Modern sporting rifles. Mind you this was when you could walk out with what you paid for right then. So to the point I'm drooling over a AMD-Ak and in walks Ez E and ice cube lookalikes. They pimp walk straight up to the counter and ask to see the "Choppa" bullets. After a few chuckles from behind the counter they then ask it the store buys guns. So the owners asks what do you got. Ice cube pulls a tec-9 with about 2 inches of rubber bands around the gripe. As things start to get tense he asks if it works and cube then pulls 2 50 round stick mags taped together upside down and is about to insert it. Before I comprehended what was happening 3 guys plus the owner at the counter had their guns drawn on these guys. Easy E is out the door in a flash and cube hits the deck. Luckily all ended well but a month or two latter someone hooked up a tow truck to the front door and robbed them blind. They where a great place!
