If I could only bring one magazine I'd take a revolver instead. That would be faster to reload than trying to shoot a semi one round at a time or loading the magazine again.

This is a trick question. If I had to leave my home in a SHTF scenario, it would NEVER be with just one handgun. Secondly, why would I leave my supplies? It would have to be under nuclear attack before I would leave my home.
