I think new Troopers are starting out at about 66k which isn't bad on top of everything else. A take home vehicle that you can drive from western Maryland all the way down to Crisfield Maryland and not put 1 cent of your money in gas, is priceless.
So state sanctioned theft of tax dollars. So much for equal protections and trying to keep taxes down.

Small price to pay for your life, don't ya think? Do you go to work everyday with the possibility of someone wanting to kill you?

Maybe you don't know that Troopers have state wide jurisdiction and can enforce the law anywhere within. Tough to do that from your POV.

We live in MD we all risk our life every time we go to work.
Doesnt matter that SP has statewide jurisdiction. They are assigned to areas. If you go from Western MD to Crisfield you are going on a personal trip which shouldnt be funded by tax payer money plain and simple.
Thats an abuse of state resources. It goes right along with all the abuses of power.
If your job scares you so bad find a different one.

I knew you'd pull the "We all risk our life" b ullshit. You don't go to a job where you risk your life. Oh wait, you want to say that you could possibly get into an accident on your way to work, sure, that's the same.

The whole way is within his jurisdiction. The car is being seen on Maryland roads , and in Maryland neighborhoods. The vehicle is " flying the flag " projecting the presence of MSP , thus providing the public a sense of security/ disuading Malfactor from their nefarious deed in its vicinity .

Same parameters and debate as take home cats generally.

Yes I totally believe you know everything I do.
You want to start with the personal stuff though. Keep licking those boots. You are the epitomy of rules for thee but not for me.
Your democrat tactics of deflection seems to be strong too.

THIS. Visibility and Presence are extremely important in Law Enforcement. Additionally, an officer is expected to respond if he/she/it sees the law being broken or peoples lives in danger.

How many times do you see speeders slowing down when a cruiser approaches? Just that action, may be saving people lives.

Additionally, it is not just criminals who are a threat to Troopers and any Highway Patrol Officers. Assisting a disabled or injured motorist is one of the most dangerous actions you can do in today's world.

Cut the folks a break who wear the uniform. They are wearing it because they are providing a needed service.

Wasn't that long ago to where one of them was shot after a traffic stop over near the scale house in Vienna.
I could be mistaken but thought he was on his way home.
3 of them on a car, one offed himself or had some help in Delmar and they let the other two go and didn't even charge them is my understanding.

Ok fair enough i retract my proposal of mass application shenanigan's.

I do think starting a tradition of farting in the barracks lobby still has merit.

Thats nothing I know a retired state trooper who lives in taneytown but was assigned to salisbury for 3 years. Filled up his car on the way to work, when he got there and then when he drove home. Yes 3 tanks of gas every day he worked. Then there was days he had to go to court on the eastern shore, 2 tanks of gas for 2 or 3 tickets.

Atleast that one is on the state which we know has no problem stealing from us. That wasn't the cop getting tax payers to foot the fuel bill for his vacation to the Eastern Shore. Still wrong they should hire people near their territory. My problem is cops taking thier cars on vacation and charging all the fuel and maintenance to the tax payer.

Cops don't take their cars on vacation, that means they would have to actually do something if they saw something, you can't when you have family. Some agencies make you leave it in case it is needed when you are on vacation. Many don't use them off duty just for that reason. People don't like working on their days off.

You sure do get your tight little panties in a wad.

Yet its cool to go from Western MD to the Eastern shore on the taxpayers dime. Yup totally sounds like official business. You know exactly what was meant when that was said. Otherwise it wouldnt have been said since if it was official business it would be expected and of course it wouldnt cost the person making that trip for official reasons.
You just think cops are better than everyone else. We are just mere peasants to yall.
