Inherited this Remington 1100 Magnum from my Father-in-law. It had a long barrel (28-30”iirc) with a fixed choke. I had the barrel shortened to 24” and removable chokes installed. Put a fiber front site on it. Installed an extended bolt handle and some sling swivels.

Patterned it yesterday with an extra full choke and 4 different 3” loads from 25 yards and 44 yards. The Longbeard XR was a clear winner at both distances. A definite case of you get what you pay for. I’m excited to try it on turkey this year!

Nice , congratulations. I’ve spent a lot of money and shoulder trying to find the perfect pattern .Numerous chokes and shells .12 ,20 but Monday I plan on using my 410 or I also like my youth model 20g .Havent made my mind up yet.Use TSS since last year ,very expensive but it was something different for me . Looks like your last picture is best pattern. Anyway good luck!

Ya the Winchester Longbeard XR patterned great at 25yards and still acceptable at 44 yards. It was $25 for box of 10 so I’m OK with that.

I’ve been hearing wonders of the TSS, but at like $75/box of 5 it’s a hard pill to swallow. I’m actually considering getting a Mossberg 500 .410 Turkey for the kids so might look into TSS for it as it’s about half the price of 12 gauge shells.
