WWI German knife, made by "Eisenhauer"
It could be a cut down sword also.

This has been in its better days a Saxon infantry sword M 1867. The monogram "AR" stands for Albert, King of Saxony, died 1902. The Eisenhauer"-mark is a sign of quality and durability of the blade - ironcutter should be the exact translation.
