I purchased a Griffin Dual-lok 7 for a crazy low sale price (from a dropshipper). I thought I would go with homogeneous mounts across my rifles. So I purchased a Griffin HRT over the Dual-lok 5. The HRT has higher backpressure, 20% heavier 14.4oz vs 11.1oz, it has better flash, and "more durable". Griffin said the HRT is a Recce baffle stack vs an explorr stack in the DL5. My buddy said I'm going to REALLY regret not going with the lighter can. These are my first suppressors. Should I try and ask capitolarmory real nice to cancel the HRT and try and get the Dual-lok 5? Or even go with the OSS Flow 556k? Any advice from some suppressor veterans would be helpful. I also knew nothing about the drama around Griffin. I liked the idea of the dual lock system, simply because my buddies racheting system no longer makes that cool "click click" sound. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

You’ll end up with more than one, so let it ride. I’m sure it will be fine. Center fire rifle cans aren’t that quiet anyway. The only “quiet” cans are 22, subsonic 9mm and subsonic 300 blackout.

    Paragraphs are helpful.
You're overthinking this and second guessing yourself like an irrational woman. The only spot you'll notice a 3oz difference is in a double shot glass. Nobody cares about 3oz worth of suppressor on a 9lb rifle.

Is "irrational" even a necessary descriptor for a woman?

I have a couple Griffin cans, and use the taper mount with other manufacturers cans. Have followed them pretty close, and been generally happy with their stuff. That being said, their rifle suppressors fit within a couple "families"

Explorr/tubeless, they are light with good internal volume, good for most.

Reece/HRT/ baffle stack in a welded tube, thicker, heavier and on paper at least stronger than tubeless. The HRT was supposedly designed for a .gov contract.

Paladin / Bushwacker, serviceable baffle stack with a ratchet lock end cap. Basically a Reece, but the end cap and baffle stack can be removed to be cleaned/serviced. Not really necessary for most, but kinda nice if you do something like shoot hardcast 300BO subs.

For mounts, there are fixed taper mount, modular/planA, fixed and modular Dual lock, and a couple others(gate lock, DT etc). The Taper mount is what made them famous, it's simple, reliable, works under handguards, and they have a lot of muzzle devices to choose from, and adapters for 3rd party cans. I love mine, have 0 problems, but they do not positively lock, they do get tighter as the can heats up, and won't come loose, but there is nothing else physically locking to the muzzle device. The Dual lock is goofy, I have demoed one, you need to handle the lock ring, basically pulling and turning it to engage/disengage the lock. It is robust, threads on easier and faster than the taper mount, but you must lock it to shoot, and have to access the ring on the back, so no tucked mounts. There shouldn't be a ratchet sound, as the teeth are either retracted or engaged. The teeth also don't always like up with the slots on the mount. Griffin says to try turning the mount ring to the right, and if it doesn't lock, then back it up and turn to the left.

more or less they are good cans, and the dual lok is decent, although the modular mount models like the Explorr utility mount or Bushwacker allow you to use the dual lok, taper mount, or a 3rd party mount, and don't force you to use one mount in particular. As far as The Green brothers(owners) bufoonery, they have rubbed people the wrong way on arfcom and elsewhere, sometimes justified, sometimes not. Usually unsupported claims of "stealing designs" or supporting some "controversial" groups(like the oathkeepers) or making cringy statements in the past, there are a couple valid gripes though. They frequently release a product, then release an improved "gen 2" a few months after, leaving a lot of people still waiting on their form to clear on the outdated model. They do suddenly discontinue some things like certain muzzle devices, although their warranty is good, and they support/warranty their discontinued cans.

    They also give a vet/leo discount. :party29:

    I agree.

As for paragraphs, nothing wrong with yours, but for the sake of clearer presentation when listing comparisons, it's usually easier to follow if you make separate sentences for each product. Gives a little more context.

I have to agree. I bought a .30 caliber rifle suppressor with the intention of getting only one to use on several rifles, but I'm now looking at buying a second one. Just cut back on buying food, eat more ramen instant noodles and frozen pizzas, and you'll never feel the pinch of this first suppressor.
