Best advice I can give is source a ammo distributor, not dealers like Cabelas, Ammoman, or Cheaper than Dirt. They are buying ammo from the distributors, jacking up the price then selling to you. Stay away from dealers like bulkammo, luckygunner, & ammoforsale, for they manipulate the prices of ammo because they are one in the same. In legal parlance, what they are doing is called "price fixing". Shop around, you have internet access.

3rd time I think I've seen you give this line of 'advice'. Name a distributor or set up a group buy. I suspect you have no grand secrets.

    Ammo shortage over?

When is the madness going to end

I realize that it is hard to get ammo locally. But have you checked online lately? Gunbot lists many dozens of places that have .223/5.56.

    http://www.gunbot.net/ammo/223-556/

Out of the many dozens of entries only two were "out of stock". Of course prices vary widely... still - you can definitely get ammo if you are willing to pay...

I think once ammo is is stock at all online places perhaps we will start to see a little price competition and the local retailers start to build their inventory.

Barring some other tragedy or political shenanigans of course...

I use freedom Munitions reman 9mm 115 RN for target/comp. I did a complete spec via calipers, shoot over 1000 rounds in 4 matches. 100 % sweet. takes a week to ship. They stock everyday. Brass buy back too. Last order was .20 cents a round after rebate and shipping for 500 rounds. I needed to find a steady supply. http://firearm.skidome.org/fireover_Projects2013.htm that link is my report. For decent 7.62 x 39 is golden Tiger SGammo
