I decided to look into maybe getting one of these again but I am still seeing quite a few posts on various forums regarding accuracy issues. Some have even posted pics of barrels that shouldn't have made it out of the shop. In the last couple of years, I have had to send back a Wrangler, a SP101 .22, and a Mk III. Granted they fixed the problems but, they were all QC items that should have been caught before leaving the factory.

In any case, I would appreciate hearing from any MDS owner for or against.

    TIA

I've got an LCP2 which has migrated over to the wife as a purse gun. We've had a chance to shoot a friend's LCP-MAX and she prefers it. Just handles a little better. To my chagrin, she's invariably a better shot with either of those than I am. I have orangutan hands, and she's small - it might be that simple. Regardless, she can stand at likely self defense distances with the LCP-MAX and quickly put the whole mag through the melon on a human sized silhouette target, let along into center mass. Requires a bit of a combat sight picture, but you're probably going to end up just point shooting to make getaway space/time with something like that anyway, not using it in a bullseye competition. It's a fine little pistol for what it's designed to do and what it costs - and I can use it in a pocket holster when my P365 feels a little too big.

I had to drift my sights a little right out of the box. I didn’t check before not hitting anything first time out to the range. (A 10’ plate at 10 yards)

Now it’s on center but about 3“ low. That’s typical as they seem to zero everything at 25 yards.

Hopefully, issues were with older models since it has been out for 2 years or so now.

I have a LCPII and love it. It's only issue is the damn sights. While I know it is a close up gun, I still am happier with XS sights which really stand out. They are what I use on my Diamondback DB9 and, if I decide to get a Max, that is what I would put on it.

Mine isn't super accurate, think 6" group @ 7 yards. I'm not a super accurate pistol shot, but I can shot a 1-2" group with my 365 at the same distance. Mine is the elite version, hasn't been put super long.

Wow, that is a pattern! My LCPII will give me two inch groups at that range. Using very slow fire off hand, even with poor sights

There have been QC issues with everything since COVID.
That said, I own a MAX and they sent me a new slide and barrel because of some issues. It's been fine since and as far as accuracy, it's a small handgun. When I Take careful aim and concentrate it shoots to POA. However, that is not what this very small handgun was designed for.

I agree. However, I don't want a gun that shoots six inches when slow firing it because that six inches is going to grow with my moving and an adrenaline rush. If I have to do a failure drill with a gun shooting that wide, I would miss my target.

Given the size of the thing and even more shortened barrel than a micro compact like a Hellcat. I would be surprised if out of the box you were able to hit much beyond 10 yrds using practical accuracy over target accuracy. The light weight and extra short barrel/hand grip is what kept me from going micro much less pocket pistol.

No accuracy or function issues with mine, not as accurate as say a full sized pistol of course but that’s more me than the firearm itself.

I don't expect to use a pocket pistol at ranges greater than 10 yards either.

Don't own one. Plan to though.

The two I fired shot like lasers. Like, cloverleaf patterns at 10 yds two handed unsupported. And I never shoot THAT well.

I painted my front sight and that worked out well. The Pachmayr grip and hand swell really helps too.

My LCP Max is close to 800 rounds now (? I'd need to check) and accuracy is exactly what I would expect from that platform.

    Good luck...'
