We get plenty of snakes here. I put out glue traps to catch mice. The larger ones made for rats will hold a snake.

Then I take them out to a wooded corner of our property. If you spray the glue trap with veg spray, the snake can work it’s way off without harm. Lives to eat more mice.

This poor guy fell out of a tree in our front yard a few days ago. He got tangled in a bird’s nest made almost entirely of some sort of netting material…betting he was stuck for quite some time. Took me 45 minutes with a dull pair of scissors to cut him loose. Was afraid I was going to decapitate him if I used anything sharp. Took off like a rocket once he was cut loose.

And this is why I don't like snakes in the chicken coop. An almost 5' black snake was trying to swallow this half grown Maran pullet when my 2 little grandsons and I went in to feed the 'baby chicks' this afternoon. If it wasn't so greedy it could have swallowed some of the 2 week old birds and got away with it.
