Maybe the mothers of those birds should peck holes in the cow bird eggs and solve their own problems without dragging me into their fight.
Some do, most don't recognize them as parasites.

They're a native species & have a place in the ecosystem. IMHO.
So Cow birds are Bullies?
Their territory has expanded because of sprawling suburbia, thanks to people their territory is infringing on other native birds
. They are supposedly edible and taste good but i've never bothered to try. .
They thrive in an environment altered by mankind?
Do you have info on that?
Typically invasive species are physically introduced by man. The Cowbird is opportunistic in the expansion of it's natural range."Once confined to the open grasslands of middle North America, cowbirds have surged in numbers and range as humans built towns and cleared woods."

Wash them down with snow coffee. Are they tasty? Grackles and doves are tasty. I’ll eat them.
There are some nice markings on the English sparrows, but they have driven away the house finches and cardinals. I’m not gonna use a pellet gun in the city and lose all my guns, but I miss the variety of birds.
Pigeon, shoot and eat. Its a big dove.
Ok, I read this entire thing, and all I have to say at this point is, "Shoot them all and let God sort them out."
What is everybody's opinion on pigeons? Invasive, non-invasive, good idea to shoot them, let them be, trap em all and use them for dog training. Inquiring minds want to know. Let's keep this thread rolling.
John, I agree with admitting the error of your ways, putting signs up, and offering sanctuary. Keep Da Man off your trail.
