Better trigger is not measureable. Both have 4lb single action triggers. The Sig legion ships with factory 18rd mags with 20rd extended mags available. (Sig website is wrong).Measurable reason? Better trigger, higher capacity, lighter, aftermarket support etc. STI/Staccato has been solving the "problem that doesn't exist" (improving ergos, modular frame, more ammo in less space, recoil reduction...) since 1993, and the company has been around since 1980. If that's new to you, how did you manage to find the internet?
Now granted the SA isn't a Staccato/STI, but it's pretty clearly modeled pretty damn closely and the 2011 platform.
Anyway, if SA can quickly remedy any "bugs" that present themselves, as they do with most manufacturers' first releases (*cough...Sig recalls), Staccato might have something to sweat about.
As far as weight: I don't believe that a partially steel framed, steel slide, bull barrel, solid reverse recoil guide rod commander-ish length (4.25") pistol is a half oz lighter than an alloy framed thin barreled 4.4" pistol with a hollow guide rod. Steel is heavy, and both the sti and the staccato have a lot of it.
I'm just saying I don't understand what these guns do better than any other quality double stack 9. I only brought up the Sig because it comes in single action for a more apples to apples comparison. It seems like a bunch of internet fanboys who think that any of this is new.
Newsflash, 2011s have been around for a long time. Para (anyone remember the p18-9?), Dan Wesson, RIA, The original Springfield armory 2011, SVI, STI make or have made 2011s for decades. So what is so special about these?
