My wife, the doctor she works for and his family and I are going to be there, if possible everyone in the area should join in.
ABC had a 5 second mention and photo of the event. Nothing has changed with them.
Just got back from D.C. today. I attended the AFP rally for about 10 minutes and then headed into the Senate office building with some fellow Campaign For Liberty members, MDSF members, and a few others.
We all headed for Mikulski first. On the way there on the catwalks I couldn't help but look in the other Senator's offices only to see two and three monitors set up on a computer with videos playing and no work being done. Why does this not surpise me? In the conference room in Mikulski's office I was asked by one of Mikulski's aides to turn my video camera off, so I did and said "why because it will show your double standards?" Everyone did a low "oooohhhh." Later each one of us in the room were allowed to address one concern we had with Healthcare and I told them its a power grab just like the Automobile bailouts, Bank bailouts, Cap & Trade, and the Patriot Act which will most likely be renewed with support from Mikulski. We are headed toward Socialism.
I am sick and tired of both the elected officials and their staff playing games with people. While the questions were being asked about healthcare the aide couldn't answer them and wouldn't often use the b.s. excuse of "I can't speak for the Senator." I found it kind of ironic that my 1st Amendment rights were impeded on Bill of Rights Day. The only reason I complied with the aide's order to turn it off is because they have the Capitol Police on their side.
After Mikulski's we hit Cardin's office but no specific aides were available (typical). Then we hit Lieberman's office but they don't do walk-ins for anyone other than his home state. After that we headed outside and the rally had just ended and a ton of people were headed toward the offices.
It is important that we work against Mikulski and get her out this upcoming election. I will be supporting Harford County's own Jim Rutledge to take her place.
We def. need a group buy...
