    1. Excellent VCDL training video on how to keep an eye on local government

While this video is aimed at VCDL’s Watch Team For Local Government (WTLG) members, the information is important for everyone to know. It explains how local government works and how to keep an eye on them.

Many thanks to VCDL WTLG Team Lead for Virginia Beach, Vincent Smith, for putting this video together!

Michael Bloomberg wasted $2 million on the losing gun-control candidates! ;-)

    4. Reminder: Suffolk membership meeting on December 2, RSVP

    We still have seats available!

VCDL will have a membership meeting in Suffolk on Thursday, December 2, from 7:30pm to 9pm at:

    CE Tactical

    2815 Godwin Blvd

    Suite L2

    Suffolk, VA 23434

Because the meeting room only holds 40 people, we would like you to RSVP, so we don’t over commit. Please send your RSVP to president@vcdl.org and let me know your name and how many people are in your party.

As with all VCDL membership meetings, it is free and is open to the public, so bring friends and family!

After the meeting, those who want continued fellowship will be going to a nearby restaurant.

    5. Warren County Planning Commission approves range, now up to Supervisors

On Wednesday, November 10th, the Warren County Planning Commission approved the application for a new training range owned by Middletown Firearms. The range will offer firearm safety classes, IDPA shoots, private firearms courses, etc. This will NOT be a public shooting range at this time. The application will now head to the Board of Supervisors for a final vote.

    6. Reminder on renewing your CHP – 90 days is NOT 3 months

If you want to keep the renewal month and day the same as on your expiring CHP, you must renew between 90 and 180 days before the permit expiration date. Otherwise, your new CHP will have an effective date/expiration date that is weeks earlier than what you were expecting.

The key thing to remember is that it is 90 to 180 DAYS, not 3 to 6 months. Months are too broad of a measurement. This is particularly important when your renewal date is close to the beginning of a month.

    7. Rappahannock Pistol and Rifle Club donation

The Rappahannock Pistol and Rifle Club gave a nice $300 honorarium to VCDL for my talk as a guest speaker at their annual banquet. It is not possible to have a nicer, more polite audience than a room of gun owners, and this event was no exception. I thank RPRC for giving me the honor of being their keynote speaker!

Of note: they were handing out awards earned by various members. One lady won in centerfire rifles with a teeny-weeny .18” group. No one else was even close. That, of course, requires a great rifle, but an even greater shooter!

    8. [MO] North St Louis woman shoots carjacker

Based on the woman’s minimalist purse, I would guess she used a small caliber pistol, such as .32 or .380. She hit one assailant in the leg and the other assailant set a world land-speed record getting out of Dodge.

Oh, and you know the gun-controllers are having a hissy fit, as this is a black woman who used a gun, of all things, to save her life. Gun-control at its core has been about keeping minorities disarmed.

    9. Gun-grabbers would have nothing without lies about CHP holders

Even If the gun-controller’s claim that “shall issue” states have a higher crime rate because of CHP holders were true, which the data does NOT show, the constitutional remedy is to punish the evil doers and leave the rest of us alone. But, as we know, the goal is to disarm the citizenry.

    10. Something to remind anti-gun doctors about

Member K. Myers sent me this email:

Maybe the public [PVC: and anti-gun medical doctors] should be reminded (rather, told) that medical errors are the third leading cause of death in this country. Waaay ahead of firearms accidents.

    11. Colion Noir goes after Saturday Night Live over attack on Winsome Sears and guns

Colion Noir rips the gun-control left for their insanely stupid comments and attacks on Winsome Sears, Virginia’s Lt. Governor-Elect. She has driven them to be more insane than they already were, and that’s not an easy task! ;-)

Winsome is also extremely popular – and that photo of her proudly and unapologetically holding an AR-15 was a brilliant political move. During my recent talk at the Rappahannock Rifle and Pistol Club banquet, when I mentioned our Governor-Elect, Glenn Youngkin, and our Attorney General-Elect, Jason Miyares, there was strong applause. But when I said “Winsome Sears” the room exploded! That’s the difference between having people who like your positions better than your opponent’s positions, and people who are truly excited and enthusiastic about your candidacy. She got that enthusiasm by standing up proudly for gun ownership and other rights.
