I got a row boat, actually a kevlar Guideboat. Once the weather gets warmer, I'd like to go to the Eastern Shore and catch snakeheads.

The Potomac River is another great place to catch Snakeheads. Just don't venture out to far with that row boat. The Potomac can be a rough and dangerous place for a little boat.

Trout fished Friday and Saturday with my son in Greenridge. Fished Flintstone Creek, Fifteen Mile Creek, White Sulphur Pond, and the Potomac down near Bills. Started out OK Friday evening and then Saturday in the morning with the sun out, but then drizzled rain and by 2PM we were fishing in a blowing snow squall! Caught nothing! Too damn cold so we went and had late lunch at Little Orleans Grocery and watched that snowstorm come right up 68. Visibility was near 0 up towards Sidling Hill. Then drove down to Bills but it was freezing on the Potomac, so we called it a day. Went home and grilled some pork chops and had mashed potatoes, biscuits, and apple pie for dinner. Sunday, we shot some bowling pins getting ready for Turkey season. It was snowing Sunday too. No fish, but still a great time with my son.

    Bravo. I need tips.

What pound test line is good for snakeheads? I hear they fight like hell.
    Where did you catch these?

They're fvck ugly, but good eating and no limits. I get sick of worrying about whether I'm complying with the laws when I fish for rocks.

This time of year not much bites unless the spot is good, i tend to go to smaller ponds/lakes and around the pasadena area where i know there are snakeheads and catfish that will bite.

This is a good time to go winter flounder fishing in the Ocean.

I have not heard of this but I"m seeing the striped bass in the OC bay and Tautog reports are good. I'm doing what I can to be able to at

I'm not at the pace I want to be to get the boat ready cause I have a bunch of rework to do but I hope to be in the Bay by mid April and Ocean ready by May 1.
Last year the seabas (mid May opening), Tuna and Flounder bite were good and I was off doing Spring Youth tournaments. Not this year!

Good luck with the Sea Bass and Flounder, the minimums have made take home fish pretty rare.

If they keep flounder at 16.5" I'll be fine. I get lucky once and a while :)

The sea bass, I have to make sure I keep enough people in the boat or bump up our minimum keepers once we hit a few and know how they are going :) My mom has ORDERED me to bring her home some seabass. There you go, I have to do it :)

Summer off shore gets better cause we can hit multiple species on a trip.

The minimums on Bluefish killed that for me unless we take a bunch of guests, then we hit our neverskunk honey hole which is just 15 minutes from the inlet. We did not even troll for Bluefish last year but may this year just to see if its still good.

End of August is what I wait for
