Can't emphasize the lean of the tree enough. It's the difference between a miserable hunt and being comfortable all day.

I just grab a few pine branches and strap to my stand to conceal my feet and mid section. The stands with shooting rail brackets are awesome because you can just put the branches through the bracket. You can use any branch but pine will last all winter

I do it alone all the time. Not recommended but it's not a huge deal. I try to find a tree that is slanted away from where I want to face for comfort. It's also much easier to put up that way. I also attach the ladder support to the tree before I climb up. Other than that I just clip my ratchet...

Mark some trees around permanent stands when you cut your shooting lanes. Or better yet tie a 30yard string to your stand and walk around and mark whatever you want with paint or ribbon.
If you use a climber get a range finder. I've used the bushnell PinSeeker (golf) and it has...

I know some organizations do hunt tests so there might be a few birds left over.
Has anyone ever stocked their own birds in the training fields? Lots of competition or could I take some buddies and a few dozen chucker/quail and do my...
Yea it's about 50% more expensive than shydas in PA. Might just ride up there sounds like they have a decent supply of powder. If I go I'll put the current stock on here.
Quick 50 yard shots? I have my remington 7600 carbine set up with see through leupold rings with iron sights. Had great success in the PA thickets with this setup.
Longer ranges?
Fan of the bushnell Elite line but a bit pricey for hunting...hunting out to 500 yards you should be fine with the...
