I have several sources, one local for hard coat MIL-A-8625 Type III. Google-fu and search have not given a solid answer and neither did ATF.
Is it legal for an FFL 01 or 07 to anodize a lower after machining? Are markings like if manufactured for sale required for said FFL to do this...
Yesterday's find out in Killen, AL was an FN Model 1922 in .32acp, Nazi marked with white grips. Neat little JMB design. Very worn with less than 10% blue on the slide and endcap, maybe 60% on the frame.
This may be a candidate for Naval Jelly, no polishing and rust bluing. Pics when I get a...
S&W Victory for $400, it was sitting there covered in what looked like dust and funk impacted grease. Nope, dust and funk encrusted Cosmoline, like original 70+ year old Cosmoline. I just finished cleaning it up, it appears to be unfired and still has like new color case on the trigger and...
My headspace gages finally came in so I'm taking bolts apart one at a time to check the rifles I built this fall. One bolt has a seized ejector that won't push in and will not pull out with pliers. I have spare ejectors so I don't care if I mangle the bad one getting it out. Any ideas?
For nothing more than a shooter are the rack or field grades safe to shoot without having a gunsmith go over them? Safe to shoot as is is the ONLY criteria, kindly don't clutter this up outside that.

After my oil change this morning I went for a drive on backroads to get lost and see what I could see. Well I saw a rinky dink old pawnshop and popped in to see if they had any treasures. They did...a National Postal Meter M1 carbine with round bolt and 7-43 Underwood barrel for $400. Pics as...

US military stock finishes/refinishes. These two photos show an M1-A with Springfield's standard BLO finish (matte brown), a CMP Service Grade with original finish (likely BLO, all cartouches were sanded off in service so this is whatever the military did to it over it's lifetime), James River...
It just gets better. VA has not only rescinded their CCW reciprocity limitation but expanded the states they do recognize. Effective July 1, 2016. Alabama is one of the states they've added.

So, what's a decent rifle $250 or less for backyard pest control? I'd prefer to avoid springers and PCPs and I'd like it reasonably quiet. .177 or .22 caliber. I prefer standard stocks to the skeltonized semi-thumbhole types. Academy, Cabela's and Dick's are all local so anything they carry is a...
