OK, I went and added a small "riser" to the rear ring. This seems to have helped greatly. Now, I am actually semi-accurate. I need to go to the range to really get it dialed in, but based on the 25yd shots I am taking in my yard, it's much, much improved.
(and no, the scope covers don't...
No way for me to answer all these questions without some visual support.
Here's the current situation. Yes, it's a crazy big scope, maybe it should be smaller. But I like the view it gives me.
Tips?
I have a marlin 22 rifle, a 60 SB, upon which, I have a Tasco scope mounted.
The front "eye" of the scope is now touching the top of the barrell mount, and I cannot get it to go any lower. I have the scope adjustment backed all the way up, but I am still 4" to 5" low below the crosshairs at...
I meandered down to a local hardware store/gun shop today, and what did I find?
A Mossberg 75410 "Silver Reserve"
It's a shotgun
It's O/O
It was $549
So what's not to like?
It's made in Turkey, I know. The fit and finish looked pretty good, and the wood stock was nice too...
It seems everything I saw was $1500+ on gunbroker.
I was hoping for a lot less, something sub $500, of course, that may not be realistic.
And i would rather have an SxS than I would a semi-auto.
I have an 870 now, but with a short barrel. I would like to have a gun that I can use for real birds and clay birds, both occasionally. And by occasionally, I mean a couple times a year.
I guess I need to hope to find a deal on a used one.
Would moving to a 16ga get me a cheaper gun?
I want to get a double barreled gun for the occasional bird I want to shoot. Given my limited experience with trap, I prefer the feel of an over under compared to a side by side.
However, everything I see on gunbroker is obscenely pricey.
Any suggestions on some used/value guns that...
We're moving to Chester Co. next week, all the way from PG county. (What a relief that will be!!)
I have not done any searching here on the board, but what sort of registration/notice do I need to do in PA for handguns, etc?
Maybe there already is, but a sticky on the forms and processes needed to do a person to person sale on a regulated weapon would be handy.
I looked in marketplace, Maryland 2A and handguns...
??
Or something like that.
I filled out the hand-cramping paperwork today at MSAR, on a stainless .357.
It looks like a nice gun, and seems to have overall excellent reviews.
It did cost more than the comparable Taurus, but I think that's a long term investment that will pay off.
