I just saw over on the 6BR forum that the State Dept has reversed it's decision on the importation of Korean Garands. If true, this is good news!
If so I wonder why the change of heart. I'll believe it WHEN I see it.
Under pressure from Tester, the State Department recently reversed its decision and will now consider South Korea’s request once an importer is selected.
I believe that the ammo is already filtering back to the US. http://www.jgsales.com/30-06-korean...s,-250rds-loose-in-steel-ammo-can.-p-888.html and http://www.southernohiogun.com/ammo-mags-more/ammunition/30-06-military-surplus-ammo.html
This must mean someone in the "ZERO" administration has figured out how to illegally redirect some of the M1's to Mexican drug gangs.

Or it just means they don't have the 'nads to face a wave of pissed off collectors
The rifles will be sold in the U.S. through the Civilian Marksmanship Program, a non-profit organization that provides surplus firearms to qualified buyers.
Totally contrary to what the CMP themselves had said. Perhaps the senator is mistaken, I dunno. I DO hope we also get the ammo, corrosive is no real big deal IF one cleans their rifles. I use it in my bolt actions and save the Greek for my Garand.
"the State Department recently reversed its decision and will now consider South Korea’s request once an importer is selected."
That is confusing, especially with this line in the linked article...
Once an importer is selected? Like Blue Sky?

Good news.
Now if we can just get those Carbines too!
