We've known all along that our best chance here was in the courts. The resistance we've managed in the legislature is all a bonus realistically.

I also met a few new folks today. Always nice to put faces to the names here. Oh and big kudos to Brian for getting things done with MSP today(namely the extra chairs).:party29:

It wasn't just me... flyingblind & dblas were on top of things.

    1.5 K post in 3 months...lol

I remember that post when someone accused you of being a troll. I think you have proved yourself! Thanks for all of the hard work

    Yeah... he's ok...

    for a pup

    :D

I admire your dedication and work occbrian. I agree with your statement. It's ok to be angry but not for too long, that wont solve anything. We need to understand what happened, keep moving forward and keep trying. It's not over.

Thanks. Anger can be good. It keeps the fire burning. I just think it's okay to be down tonight. We'll get back up tomorrow.

That's funny... I said the same thing to flyingbllind today. I even told him I liked the "cut of his jib."

we'll have a chance to meet again. hopefully under different circumstances, but I doubt it.

The bill has not passed. It just got out of committee.

Floor debate next... and the clock ticks....

We are still in the fight, should have lost long before now.

We did that. We are making them pay...

This is causing some grief in the party.

I find joy in making them work so hard for this. It not much but it is something.

please make a showing next week. It looks like I can not ...

    Once more into the breach....

    :party29: I agree.

    Here are my thoughts.

This battle is part of a larger war which has been fought by the Progs against this country for more than a century. They have systematically our culture and sense of national identity. They have taken over government education and media outlets in ways that would have made Stalin envious. They have replaced the husband with the state, and destroyed the family. They have eliminated personal responsibility and individual accountability. Production and achievement are not worthy objectives, unless result is the greater glorification of the state.

All of the rights we hold dear have been severely circumscribed, or are on the list. Most of us here have a special reverence for the Second Amendment, since we clearly see the harsh experience which compelled the Founders to put in the Bill of Rights. Some of the Progs have that same understanding, and for that reason want it eliminated. For the rest, this right is another bump in the road to be smoothed out on the way to a Workers' Paradise.

We have a constitutional confederation of independent states. Most of us think that the feral government has become a leviathan, and is strangling liberty by its pervasive dominance in every area of life. That implies states should take back their status as sovereigns, subject to the feral government only in areas which are uniquely federal.

With the power to make decisions comes the opportunity to fail. We can't expect that when the opposition has been organizing and fighting for a century, we're going to spend a few weeks sending emails and win the day. We can't expect that any court is going to save us from a century of inattention and indolence. And, mea culpa. Mea maxima culpa.

It took the progs a century to wrest this country from those who loved Liberty. It is going to take at least that long to get it back. Many of us will not see that day. But I'm sure that like me, most of you are not putting forth this effort for just yourself.

We have to start at the school boards, town councils and county commissions. We have to take back legislative districts when we can. It may not happen in the next election, or in any of the next ten elections, but it will happen.

Over? OVER?!? Hell, it's just begun. Fight's on!

    We will prevail.

His point, I'm sure, related to letting go of the "highs and lows" ...

We need to step back, refocus, and address the needs and results from the events to unfold on Tuesday.

THIS. Thank you for adding clarity to my ramblings...

and yes, a postmortem of this whole session will be needed.

    Another day.

I knew you had help, I just didn't know the others' identities. Kudos to them as well.

If we stockpiled tar and feathers like we do ammo this would be a much better state. Inner city scum ruin everything they touch.

O'malley and BO should be hauled off to jail for their treasonous behavior but "Inner city scum" didn't put us in this situation. Mal-adjusted, psychopathic young white males who probably couldn't buy a woman much less get one on their own put us in this terrible situation. Just saying.

No, a bunch of high income, high education, extremely liberal suburbanites put is here....MoCo, Howard, and the high dollar parts of Baltimore County were the drivers on this one.

    What a day.

Thanks to everyone who came up to say "hi." I guess if you post 1.5k times in 3 months, people start recognizing your screen name haha.

I am convinced that you have cloned yourself and work from different locations simultaneously.

A lot of hung heads when I needed to head out...

But the people I talked to were trying to keep positive.

Several people helped us by chipping in (sorry I don't know their names) for pizza to feed all the good people who showed up and took time out of their lives to fight for their Rights.

Yes! The pizza was a godsend. Thanks to anyone who didn't receive my gratitude.

Overall, I am feeling a little downtrodden, but not defeated. Today was not a surprise, though a disappointment. At noon, our initial showing was more than I had expected. They think we're giving up. Then again, they think clips go in magazines too, so...

Folks the Soap box ends on 4/9 at 12:01 we simply can't throw in the towel. We are all angry, but focus that anger into motivation, we need huge groups ready to spring to Annapolis when the floor votes are called, we need more face to face visits especially from new faces, and from Districts with strong MOM ties. We need to call every donor and demand positions in writing or they will be boycotted. What we don't need is folks going off the reservation and making us all look bad. Mad props to all those i met today you are all champs and it was an honor to work along side you all.

A few things more: the capital police love our peaceful presence.

Be relentless on Facebook of those who voted against us.

Thank those who defended our freedom

I'm writing that one down. I'll send it up the flagpole and see if it flys.

    Brian,

Have you had any word or thoughts of trying to do an unconventional "Group Buy" of a few dozen of us going to the board of elections and getting voter registration training? Getting into the community and using it 1) to spread the MDS, MSI word and 2) to get people registered to vote? I did it years ago and it was easy to do, just required time to go out in the world and make it happen?

Count me in on a "Group Buy" of that sort. I am waiting to hear back from my county election board about the training.

Maybe see if we can set up once a month at local gun shops, the Second Saturday of each month would be appropriate. :)
