      458 SOCOM

The ejection port does have to be opened up, a little over 100 thousandths. The devil is in the details though: I opened up the bottom of the port, so the ejection port cover could still be used (closed). I was having ejection problems though, so I thought I'd have to open up the top too...

      458 SOCOM

A cousin in Alaska asked me to build him a .458 SOCOM upper (think bears & such). I didn't have any experience with the cartridge, so I started researching. Pretty amazing: fit a .458, 250-500 grain bullet into an AR-15 platform...kind of like the .300 BLK on steroids. Heft investment in...

300 blk brass / general reloading question

No safety issues, more of just function issues (and I doubt even that). .008 is actually not that much, when you consider larger rounds (say M118LR, which can spec as low as .010 below headspace) which actually have a true shoulder to blow forward, pulling brass from the web of the case, and...

      Navy Garand 7.62 NATO - MK2 Mod 1, Grade B ?

If it's a Navy trophy rifle, Jim Adell can verify. From the US Navy Shooting Team website: US Navy Trophy rifle verification service: With a probability of greater than 95%, the authenticity can be verified for the following rifles which were awarded by the US Navy and the US Marine Corps...

How do you test your reloaded 9mm rounds for accuracy?

Concerns about tumbling? Not with any load in a load manual. Hell, even if you go below manual loads (as bullseye shooters often do), still not a concern. Accuracy for bullseye shooting is always measured at 50 yards. What kind of 9mm are you shooting? If it's an out-of-the-box retail...

Overall Length Gauge and Bullet Comparator

Make your own from some scrap aluminum and a drill index...they're not the most technically advanced tool out there, and it'll cost you nothing...

      5.56 AR Barrel help

White Oak Armament uses Wilson barrels, and are a great deal. They'll shoot great all the way out to 600 yards. The 1:8 will stabilize anything you're going to shoot. The 1:7 I think is overkill...but if you plan on shooting 90's, you have to go at least that fast. Take a look at the recent...

      AR front sight block pinning

Just a recommendation, but match shooters drill & tap the 4 pin holes for 10-32 allen head cap screws, then mill flats on the barrel. This allows the front sight to be adjusted for windage, keeping your mechanical and no-wind zeros in the same spot.

PNTC is proud to announce The 1st Annual Trijicon / NRA World Shooting Championship

WARNING: Bitter grapes, crying babies, and general hate and discontent follow. You've been warned. Waste of time, waste of money. No rule of law...hell, no rules in general. Not representative of respective shooting disciplines (they had nobody from the respective disciplines involved in...

      My stupidity, your gain

Wow folks, no big deal...I'm always in large supply of 9mm military brass, which you usually can't give away! Trick G got this one, but I offered Coop 9mm when he's got family in town (no, this isn't Salvation Army, so don't start the line...just smoothing things over).

      My stupidity, your gain

Wow, that was quick...timestamp goes to Trick (PM). Not to worry though, with as much experimenting, there'll probably be more!

      My stupidity, your gain

In my never-ending quest to get the quickest, easiest shine on my brass before reloading, I experiment a lot. My latest experiment has failed on an epic level. I mixed 9mm military brass, stainless steel cut shot, and ceramic media to see what kind of polished shine it would produce. I didn't...
