      I would recommend that the op look at the crimes charged and then look at other states to reside. Maryland has some very archaic laws and applies them as they wish.       That is absurd. If a son or daughter wants to take the gun to the range why would they need a permit if they are of legal age and not disqualified from possessing a firearm?
