Since leaving MD, the only MD-banned stuff I’ve acquired has been AKs, but I’ve always wanted a G3 of some sort. I saw this unfired in box SAR-8 at the show last month for less than what a used PTR costs. Springfield Armory, Inc imported this likely in the early 90s, but it was made by EBO of...
This is the Field Grade I got last month. It’s an Ithaca with the original finish that was originally shipped on May 7, 1945, to RIA as part of a 5k gun batch. Barrel is a Flannery still with the bluing.
I did a FOIA request on it this week and was surprised to see that it remained in service...
So Old Rag became infamous for its crowds during COVID because some publication rated it as a top hike in the country. That prompted NPS to trial a $1 day use permit this year. Even before that, it was already kind of crowded, so I’ve avoided going back for years.
I finally have the solution...
I forgot to post this earlier, but there are still three more of these matches this year (9/28, 10/19, & 11/16). It's not a CMP sanctioned match, but it's a fun match for anyone who likes to shoot old service rifles.

I was first in line for this M1903 that United Gun Shop listed in their consignments thread and finally got to pick it up on Saturday. Despite living in MD until a few years ago, this is actually the first time I've bought a firearm in person from an MD store.
This rifle has a few USMC or...
I picked this very nice, unissued looking Husqvarna M/38 on Sunday at the show for $450. I had seen it on Friday for $550 and was surprised that no one had bought it, so I made an offer on Sunday. There was actually a Yugoslavian M48 right next to it for $675. The Swedish bayonet came with a...
This old M1903A3 turned to a life of crime when it couldn't keep up with the new kids. It was about to turn its life around and become a competition rifle or part of a collection when it fell in with the wrong crowd and got arrested instead...
It's $280 shipped, and then a $50 rebate. I just got my rebate for a previous order. It took about a month from when I sent it out in the mail.
I'm not entirely sure what the F at the end of "XM855CSF" means. The "XM855CS" is $300 for a case of 1k loose...
Brownells has "blemished" Metalform 10mm 1911 mags on sale for $7.99. It says that they were made for a brand, but had the logo ground off. I bought three of them and I can't find any signs of grinding. The welded floorplate just has the usual brushed finish on the bottom...
It's not a "suppressor" because it cannot be used to suppress a "firearm." It's the same deal with the pellet guns with integral suppressors that are non NFA.
Anyone going to get one?

I paid a couple times that today for this DCM M1. Prior to the creation of the CMP in 1996, the Army administered the DCM directly. I believe it was only one rifle per person per lifetime, and it was luck of the draw. Some people received very nice rifles like correct and...
So I picked up these two Luger mags yesterday out of a random mag bin at a gun store. I know the blued one is an unmarked Mec Gar, but I'm wondering about the plated one. There are no markings on the body, and the aluminum base has an eagle with an L stamped on it.
Some quick Google searching...
I thought about buying a second one to join my 1963 Blackhawk I bought back in 2014, but I think someone in MD would appreciate it more. I messaged the seller and they told me the serial number is 789XX, which makes it 1966.

So around the time I turned 18, the Saiga SGL rifles started coming in. Then the sidefolders came in. All I wanted was to buy an AK-74M, but MD had to be dumb and require me to be 21. I turned 21 in the summer of 2013, but I didn't have the money to buy one right before the ban.
Since I moved...
I got the email last night that the price dropped all the way to $130, so I finally ordered one.

I impulse purchased this today while I was working the show. In my five short years going to the Nation's show, this is only the third gun I've ever bought there. Prices tend to be high there or market price at best. This is probably the first good deal I've ever found there (at least for stuff...
These have been in stock for a few weeks. They have $12 flat rate shipping, and discounts for Mil/LE/First Responders. You can reload 8mm Mauser for cheaper than surplus currently costs, which is pretty good...
I was visiting some friends down at their range when we met someone who had a transferable giggle switch lower. The nice thing about a registered lower is that you can swap uppers without any fitting required, unlike a lightning link or DIAS. He was nice enough to let us run our own uppers on...
One NE senator wants them.
